The USB flash drive is packed with navigation data for seven countries in South East Asia, with major and minor roads, towns, villages and plenty of points of interest:
Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
There is already 100% coverage of Singapore. The 2017 version knows a total of more than 2.4 m kilometres of road. The 2017 version features 6,026 towns and communities.

Points of Interest (POI):
almost 2.3 million key points of interest are featured on the USB flash drive, including filling stations, car parks, museums, restaurants and hospitals. There are around 299,825 more POIs here than on the previous version. If required, the navigation system will also show the user the quickest route to 99 Mercedes-Benz service outlets. Some 40,718 restaurants and 5.063 nightlife destinations have been added to the new 2017 version.

Road network updates:
Map updates include millions of changes, e.g. new roads, crossroads, bypasses, junctions and motorway slip roads and exits. One section of road may feature up to 260 attributes, such as the number of lanes or one-way routing. All of these attributes and the vast number of points of interest have to be updated constantly. In this new version, for example, over 7,212 roundabouts, 61,629 turning restrictions, 76,908 one-way streets and 489,310 street names have been updated. In addition over 381.002 kilometres of road have been updated, including approx. 33.497 kilometres of motorway and dual carriageway.

This navigation update for NTG5 is copy-protected for COMAND Online. To import up-to-date map data, a six-digit activation code is required in addition to the USB flash drive. Each activation code represents a licence to use the map data in a single vehicle and is exclusively valid for a specific combination of vehicle, COMAND Online and map version.
Navigation updates can be purchased via the same channels as to date; the required vehicle-specific activation codes are available via the VeDoc system.
The newly acquired licence is documented in VeDoc at the time of purchase. A charge is made for the activation code, but it can be re-requested free of charge in VeDoc in the event of a replacement. Details of how to import up-to-date map data and input the activation code can be found in the COMAND Online operating instructions. Ordering an activation code requires access to VeDoc and specific user permissions. Access to VeDoc is free of charge. Permissions are assigned by the VeDoc hotline.
