Water-type auxiliary heaters operate independently of the engine and offer the dual benefit of preheating both the interior of the vehicle and the engine. In the engine compartment the auxiliary heating units are integrated in the coolant circuit. The thermal energy produced is taken by the vehicle’s integral heat exchanger and distributed in fine doses of warm air via existing air ducts in the interior of the vehicle. The residual heat in the coolant is used to heat the engine, eliminating the need for the cold-running phase when the engine is started - something that puts a heavy strain on the engine. Preheating the fuel also reduces fuel consumption during the start phase.
A digital timer for pre-programming the start of heating plus an optional remote control ensure even greater comfort.
